Spring Banner DIY

Spring is on it's way and it is busier than ever around this house. My daughter is moving to Galveston for a year to further her education.  We are busy getting her stuff together and lots of new projects are in the works for her new apartment.  Today I have a quick and I mean super fast and cheap  almost free project.  For Valentine's day I did this banner.

For St. Patrick's Day I made this banner.  I am sure you know where this is going. lol

Go to your local hardware or paint store and gather up some free paint swatches in pretty colors.

I found 3 cookie cutters for my banner but you could freehand any shape that you like. I just traced them on my swatches, cut them out and laced them with twine. I attach the twine to two straight pins and just stick them into my wreath.

And now I have a banner with cute yellow ducks, pretty flowers and eggs!

This project only takes 30 minutes or less and cost me nothing. How sweet is that!!

Enjoy your week!

DIY French Bunny Napkins

Are you sick of all my bunny projects yet?  Over the last few weeks I have shared how to make my 2 bunny pillows here and here. If you can't already tell, I love bunny's and I am so excited about today's project because I kid you not this only takes about 30 minutes top! Are you ready to start? The supplies you need are cotton napkins, yes that means ironing but you really need 100% cotton for the best results. Also needed is transfer paper, scissors, your printer and an iron. Seriously, that's it!
I found my napkins on Amazon, they were 2 sets of 4 for about 15.00. I only used 4 because I am toying with the idea of doing my other french bunny on the other set. We shall see.

I also found my transfer paper on Amazon and I love it. Kinda pricey but you will be able to do lots of projects.

This cute bunny I found on the web and flipped it to a mirror image so I could use it with the transfer paper. If it did not have letting than you would not need to do a mirror image.

I was able to print out 4 images on one page. I always first print it on regular paper to check the size.

Now for something I do not like. I had to iron the napkins.  And yes, I know I did not get all the wrinkles out but it was enough in the area that I needed flat.

I cute around the printed image pretty close, placed it printed side down on my napkin  and ironed according to the transfer directions.

Now how fun is this, as we lift the paper off the magic happens!

Now I have a set of cute bunny napkins for Easter or even a Spring Brunch.

I hope you have enjoyed my project and just think of all the options you have. Enjoy your week!

Ballard Designs French Bunny Pillow DIY

I love Spring and I love a sweet bunny. A few weeks ago I made a cute little bunny pillow you can find here. After falling in love with it, I started searching for another bunny pillow to make. When Ballard Designs came out with these wool pillows a year or so ago my heart skipped a beat. How sweet is that French bunny? Too cute, but the price tag of over 50.00, not so sweet. I was thrilled to find images on the internet for a bunny very much like this one.

When I did my first bunny pillow I bought several of these pillow covers from Hobby Lobby for half off.  Costing a mere 2.50 each, can you beat that? I am all about the pillow covers because I love changing them out for the seasons and I love a good down pillow.

I had this transfer paper from Amazon. It came in a package of 18 sheets for about 16.00.

I also had this fabric pen from Amazon, but you can find them anywhere.

Here is the image I found online *** The blogger who created this image can be found over at Confessions of a Plate Addict. Hop on over there to see all the great things she does!***

I took my ruler and marked out a border that I filled in with my fabric pen.

I printed out my bunny on the transfer paper. I trimmed around the bunny pretty close as well as around the lettering. Put them where I wanted them on the pillow and followed the transfer paper ironing instructions. Super simple.

And here is my beautiful French bunny pillow. Now each time I walk through my family room my heart skips a beat. I love him! It also thrills me that he cost me under 5.00 to make. Now that's a nice savings!

Hope you have a great week.
